What's Next? Quail!

Quail?  Yes quail.  Tiny little quail.  They have moved out of the brooder and into their new home.  The quail house features a slightly sloped floor that, in theory, should allow the quail eggs to roll down into the box in the front once they are laid.  The pitch is slight and should not pose an issue for the birds to walk on.  Mr. built this coop in the driveway and with the help of his son carried it over to place it.  It's a good thing that Mr. has strong sons.

Guinea Hens?  You bet.  These tiny little guys will grow into tick devouring machines in no time.  They moved into the now vacated low rise brooder box once the landlords made it ready for rent.  6 new tenants, straight run, of course.  Time to build them their fancy little home that they can hang their slate on will happen soon.  They are notorious for packing their bags and heading to greener pastures, so Mr. has the challenge of creating an environment that they will want to hang out in.

Cornish?  Well, a mans gotta eat.  Mr. just received word that a platoon sized delivery of Jumbo Cornish Broilers are set to arrive at camp sometime this week.  Mr. needs to build a bigger brooder and then a couple chicken tractors to serve as barracks.  One thing for sure, that Mr. has discovered is that the most useful decision was to always have a pallet of 2x4s to grab from to build with.  Hmmm,  better order some more.  Mrs. said there are probably goats on the horizon and he has definitely been daydreaming of  Emus...

Life is an adventure.  Don't let it pass you by.  Go outside, try new things, explore and enjoy all of the life around you.  If you don't have land of your own, take a walk in the park, discover geocaching, read a book, get a bird app and see how many you can discover ( Mr. recommends Cornell's Merlin Bird Id app), just, don't sit idle and wait to happy.
